Heavy rain, thunderstorms expected across Georgia

Meteorologists forecast short-term rain, thunderstorms, possible hail and strong winds across most of Georgia from late Saturday (June 29) through Sunday afternoon (June 30).

According to the National Environmental Agency, the precipitation may be heavy in some areas, with periodic wind intensification.

“The expected precipitation may cause flooding on Georgia’s small rivers, while in hilly and mountainous zones it could trigger or intensify landslide and mudflow processes (medium danger level),” the agency warned.
