PM -  I offer sympathy to Machalikashvili family and express my respect to our Kist compatriots

The government’s primary interest is the objective and effective investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office to answer all questions in the shortest time, – Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said at the governmental session today.

The Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the family of Temirlan Machalikashvili.

“It is unfortunate that it was impossible to save Temirlan Machalikashvili who was wounded during the special operation, but the state and doctors did everything to save his life. No matter how the investigation ends, I want to offer sympathy to the family of Temirlan Machalikashvili”, – the Prime Minister said.

“I also want to express my respect to our Kist compatriots who have many times proved their loyalty to Georgia and its interest over the centuries and nobody doubts this. I assure you that it is impossible to crack this. Our society understands that the state is responsible for the safety of our citizens and our special services will do their best to ensure this primary obligation,” Kvirikashvili said.

“Terrorism is a challenge for the whole world and our state is doing everything to prevent this threat. Of course, when you face this challenge in your own country and when the issue concerns your citizens, the issue is very sensitive. Our special services carried out several special operations and each of them was aimed at preventing terrorist threats. One of the members of our special services was killed and four were wounded in these operations. These guys defended the safety of our citizens at the expense of their own lives. I would like to state that the government’s primary interest is the objective and effective investigation of the Prosecutor’s Office to answer all the questions in the society in the shortest possible time. Today, making preliminary statements or preliminary conclusions in this situation damage the state interests” – Prime Minister said.
