Georgia’s PM condemns Rep. Joe Wilson’s letter to OSCE PA as Soviet-style rhetoric

“This is a Soviet-style approach. Joe Wilson’s tone and behaviour resemble that of a Soviet-era Communist Party secretary. Such mindsets are inappropriate for the United States or Europe,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze remarked in response to a journalist’s question about Congressman Joe Wilson’s letter to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

He expressed hope that these confrontational approaches will eventually change.

“We remember a different Europe and a different United States at the end of the last century—one that Joe Wilson certainly does not represent. Both the U.S. and Europe must move away from such Soviet-style attitudes and embrace healthier, more constructive strategies,” he stated.
