PM Kobakhidze says anyone can hold rally; their weakness will be evident again on May 26

“The celebration of May 26 is associated with specific events, which made it difficult to deliver certain equipment to the site. As a result, the organisers of the rally received an appropriate response,” said Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, when asked by a journalist about the opposition-planned rally on May 26.

Kobakhidze explained that in Georgia, anyone is free to organise a rally, and the difficulties encountered were related to the placement of particular equipment.

“Anyone can hold a rally. Our issue was with the deployment of specific equipment. As you know, May 26 commemorates significant events, and that can complicate logistics. Therefore, there were some difficulties in delivering the necessary equipment, and the rally organisers had to respond accordingly. Again, I emphasise that anyone can hold a rally in our country. In fact, I believe it would be beneficial if, once again, they revealed their weakness on May 26,” the Prime Minister concluded.
