Levan Koguashvili’s ‘Guria’ wins Best Feature Film at Asia Pacific Screen Awards
Director Levan Koguashvili and the creative team behind the feature film Guria have been awarded the prize for Best Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). The National Film Centre of Georgia has reported.
The National Film Centre hailed the major accolade at the prestigious ceremony as another milestone in Georgian cinema’s international recognition.
“Across the Asia-Pacific region, a vast hub encompassing a major share of the global film industry, the APSA is widely celebrated within the international professional community as the ‘Asian Oscar’,” the Film Centre noted in its official release.
The project was produced with the financial backing and institutional support of the National Film Centre of Georgia. Following a decision by a special selection jury at the Centre, Guria has also been chosen as Georgia’s official submission for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards.
