Georgia's PM: Continued high economic growth and poverty reduction make 2030 poverty eradication realistic goal

“If the current trend of high economic growth and poverty reduction continues, eradicating poverty by 2030 remains quite realistic,” Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated at a briefing at the government administration.

The Prime Minister highlighted that since 2020, Georgia’s economy has expanded from 50 billion to 105 billion GEL, and from 16 billion to 38 billion USD. Maintaining this high rate of economic growth is, he emphasised, the government’s most crucial objective.

“As you know, since 2020, the Georgian economy has grown from 50 billion to 105 billion GEL, and from 16 billion to 38 billion USD. Our primary goal is to sustain this rapid economic growth, which directly leads to the creation of new jobs, an increase in the average salaries, and the expansion of social support for our citizens, all of which contribute to the reduction of poverty,” the Prime Minister remarked.
