Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Botchorishvili met with her Indian counterpart, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. During their meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed the positive trajectory of bilateral relations between Georgia and India, as well as strategies for further enhancing cooperation. They highlighted the importance of high-level political dialogue and the exchange of visits.
The ministers reached an agreement to convene Economic Commission meetings aimed at finalizing a free trade agreement, which would advance trade and economic ties between their nations. Maka Botchorishvili welcomed the establishment of the Indian Embassy in Tbilisi and expressed anticipation for the initiation of Georgia’s first ambassadorial mission to India, recognizing its potential to deepen the partnership.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both ministers affirmed their commitment to continued close cooperation and pledged to better leverage the existing partnership potential between their countries.
