Georgian and Croatian FMs meet at Antalya Diplomatic Forum

Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reported.

The ministers discussed bilateral cooperation across various sectors, highlighting the importance of strengthening political dialogue, facilitating high-level visits, and the significance of opening a Georgian embassy in Zagreb in 2023.

The Georgian side expressed appreciation for Croatia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and European integration aspirations. The discussion also covered Georgia’s relationship with the EU and the challenges on its path to membership, with both sides stressing the importance of continued dialogue.

Regional security issues were addressed, with particular focus on the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. Minister Botchorishvili emphasized the need to keep this issue prominent on the international agenda.

The ministers also explored opportunities to deepen trade and economic ties, noting Georgia’s growing role as a transit hub in the region.
