Georgian Airways: Impossible for any citizen to board or depart on any airline through illegal means
“Georgian Airways operates charter flights commissioned by private individuals and other entities at least three to four times per week. These charter flight bookings are processed by the airline’s commercial department,” according to a statement released by Georgian Airways.
The airline states that information regarding flights commissioned by private individuals constitutes personal information, which is protected by law, and the company does not have the right to disclose such details.
“We want to categorically state that it is impossible for any citizen to board or depart on any airline from any international airport through illegal means.
This process is monitored by numerous relevant authorities, and such allegations are completely unfounded and nonsensical,” the released statement reads.
At Tbilisi City Court, former Co-Investment Fund head Giorgi Bachiashvili declared that on 24 May, he was “abducted from abroad, held blindfolded for two days, then placed on an Airzena aircraft and brought to Georgia.”
