The Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Hellenic Republic on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of National Driving Licenses entered into force on June 21, 2025, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Under the Agreement, holders of valid driving licenses issued by either country’s competent authorities can obtain an equivalent license in their country of legal residence without having to pass theoretical or practical exams.
The Agreement applies to the following categories/subcategories of licenses: AM, A, A1, A2, B, B1, C, D, C1, D1, BE, CE, DE, C1E, and D1E.
The Agreement was signed in Athens, Greece, on June 26, 2024.
Georgia has also signed similar agreements with Spain and Ireland, allowing for the exchange of Georgian driving licenses in those countries.
