GD's Mdinaradze: Georgia attained level of independence that it has never had before

“Today marks 34 years from one of the most significant events in Georgia’s recent history. On March 31, 1991, the Georgian people overwhelmingly backed restoring state independence by a referendum across the country, including occupied territories,” stated Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream party.

For Mdinaradze, “this day should remind everyone that independence, achieved through the struggle of generations, needs to be cherished, protected, cared for, and, most importantly, strengthened.”

“We can openly and proudly declare that Georgia has attained a level of independence that it has never had before.

We are proud that we have firmly rejected externally imposed instructions and administering the nation on someone else’s terms, and we feel that this is the only way to safeguard our country, culture, identity, demography, homeland, language, and religion.

We pledge every person of our country, regardless of party affiliation, that no foreign pressure, baseless criticism, or punitive measures will force us to abandon safeguarding and enhancing Georgia’s sovereignty,” declared Mdinaradze.
