Procedural Issues Committee supports early termination of Mamuka Mdinaradze’s powers as Head of State Security Service

The Committee on Procedural Issues discussed the matter of early termination of Mamuka Mdinaradze’s tenure as Head of the State Security Service today. MP Davit Matikashvili presented the committee’s conclusion on this issue. Following deliberation, the matter was put to a vote and received the committee’s support.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced a government reshuffle on April 21. Under these changes, Mamuka Mdinaradze is set to assume the roles of Vice Prime Minister and the newly established State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Agencies. Geka Geladze, the former Minister of Internal Affairs, has been nominated to lead the State Security Service.

The Committee on Procedural Issues endorsed the conclusion. The matter will now be presented for a vote at the upcoming plenary session.
