Four years have passed since the murder of Giga Otkhozoria. The State Representative of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti and the Mayor of Zugdidi arrived at the cemetery and laid flowers at the grave of Otkhozoria, who was killed by the so-called Abkhaz border guard in Khurcha village.

Alexander Mozerelia met with the family members of Otkhozoria and thanked the mother for the upbringing of a hero.

As mayor of  Zugdidi Giorgi Shengelia noted, that Giga Otkhozoria is a symbol of the struggle against occupation, a symbol of the fact that the Georgian people will never reconcile with Russia’s actions in the country.

“We will do our best so that a united Georgia together with our Abkhaz and Ossetian brothers becomes a member of a single European family,” said Giorgi Shengelia.

30-year-old Georgian citizen Giga Otkhozoria was killed near the occupation line in Khurcha village on May 19, 2016.
