Estonian FM: Amendments hurriedly adopted in Georgia threaten independent civil society

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has responded to the amendments to Georgia’s Law on Grants. He shared his comments on the social media platform X.

“The amendments hurriedly adopted yesterday in Georgia require donors to get government approval for funding projects supporting the civil society. This threatens to end the functioning of the civil society independently from the government and takes Georgia further away from Europe,” he wrote.
