Deputy Economy Minister on PM's visit to Abu Dhabi: Strengthening trade, tourism, and aviation ties
“Within the framework of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates, today the Head of the Georgian government will meet with the President of the Emirates, and the parties will discuss deepening trade and economic relations between the countries,” Deputy Minister of Economy Mariam Kvrivishvili told Georgian journalists in Abu Dhabi.
In a statement to Georgian journalists in Abu Dhabi, Kvrivishvili emphasized the strong cooperation, partnership, and friendship between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates.
“Today, we will also have a significant meeting with the leadership of Abu Dhabi Port to explore avenues for deepening our future collaboration. We aim to sign a crucial memorandum that will pave the way for the entry of the UAE’s largest investment group into Georgia, which, on its part, will boost our economy, tourism, and development sectors while creating new jobs,” Kvrivishvili noted.
She went on to highlight the productive discussions held with UAE ministers concerning the strengthening of trade relations, as well as advancements in tourism and aviation between the two countries.
“Georgia remains an exceptionally popular destination for tourists from the Emirates. Collaboration with local airlines is thriving, with increased flight frequencies; currently, four airlines are operating from three airports in the UAE to three international airports in Georgia. We agreed that our bilateral relations should be further strengthened, boosting tourist numbers and increasing the frequency of direct flights. This will enhance cooperation and benefit the economies of both nations,” the Deputy Minister concluded.
