Economy Minister begins official visit to Turkmenistan

The visit of the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili, to Turkmenistan has officially begun, according to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

The Georgian delegation was welcomed upon arrival at Ashgabat International Airport by the Deputy Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, Kerimberdi Kurbanov.

During the visit, Kvrivishvili is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with representatives of the Turkmen government. She will also co-chair the fifth session of the Georgia–Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which focuses on strengthening bilateral economic relations between the two countries.

The ministry noted that the visit is aimed at deepening economic cooperation and expanding trade and investment ties between Georgia and Turkmenistan.
