Azerbaijan, Armenia claim the situation at the border is relatively calm

“Currently, the situation in the Tovuz direction of the front is relatively calm,” the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan stated today.

The Ministry noted that “the false and unreasonable information about the situation at the front is disseminated in social networks and using mobile applications.”

“We once again urge all media representatives and users of social networks not to disseminate unreasonable provocative information and refer only to official information of the Ministry of Defense,” the Ministry stressed.

The coordinator of the Crisis Information Center in Ijevan, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, also said: “the general operative situation is relatively calm at the movement and this relative calm started at 6 p.m. We have since had some shelling and not with large-calibre mortars, meaning we have a de-escalation of tension.”

The border clash that began on Sunday killed at least seven Azerbaijani and two Armenian soldiers, as well as an Azerbaijani civilian.
