President Zelensky reaffirms Ukraine's support for Georgia's territorial integrity

The release of jailed Ukrainian and Georgian citizens was focused on during the meeting between Ukrainian and Georgian Presidents in Kyiv today. Volodymyr Zelensky said legal proceedings are underway to release them in due course.

Ukrainian President underscored joint European aspirations Georgia and Ukraine share. He believes both countries should pivot on energy security.

“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Georgia for its unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, for decrying annexation attempt and Russian aggression. We hope we will actively cooperate with the Georgian side as part of the Crimean platform to protect Crimeans rights and de-occupy the peninsula. For my part, I reaffirm Ukraine’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders,” Zelensky declared.

President Zelensky believes his Georgian counterpart’s visit to Ukraine is crucial for strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. “Political dialogue between Kyiv and Tbilisi is gaining new momentum,” he stressed.

Zelensky thanked Salome Zourabichvili for her visit.

Georgian President arrived in Ukraine on Tuesday. She will also meet with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and National Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov.
