Speaker: President's legitimacy ends when she calls Georgian police "Spetznats"

“President’s legitimacy ends when she calls a Georgian police officer a Russian,” said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

The Speaker echoed President Salome Zourabichvili’s post on X-platform, reading that “Spetznats” ready to pass to action against civilians defending their European future.”

“When a person holds a high-ranking post and refers to a police officer as a Russian, I think the legitimacy ends there. How can a Georgian police officer who stands on guard of Georgian people’s security day and night, in cold and heat, be called Russian? The President used a Russian term against the Georgian police.

We will soon celebrate Police Day, and I wonder how she will mark this date. The rest is fiction. She has shown her attitude toward this country. Everything is clear about the legitimacy she has,” he said.
