Four teenagers arrested in Tbilisi over violent group robbery of foreign nationals
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that officers from the Vake-Saburtalo Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department arrested four teenagers on charges of violent group robbery committed by prior agreement, including one suspect who has a prior criminal record.
“The investigation established that the accused attacked foreign nationals in Tbilisi, assaulted them physically, and stole their mobile phones and personal belongings before fleeing the scene,” the ministry confirmed.
Law enforcement officers tracked down and detained the perpetrators shortly after the incident, following swift operational and investigative measures.
Officers recovered the stolen belongings, which have been seized as material evidence. An investigation is underway under Article 178 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which carries a sentence of up to eight years’ imprisonment.
