President accentuates modern technologies role in Georgian language protection

A working meeting dedicated to promoting the digital tools for the protection and development of the Georgian language took place at the Orbeliani Palace in Tbilisi, the presidential administration reported on Tuesday.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili addressed the participants. She underscored the role of modern technologies in the protection and development of the Georgian language.

“Individual initiatives have already done a lot. Our meeting here is to think about what the state should do in this direction,” the President stated.

The meeting discussed the opportunities for a recently developed website – www.Spellchecker.ge and the morphological analyzer being in the completion phase. Participants discussed the necessary measures to complete the morphological analyzer and the process of normalization of language norms.
