OSCE PA President to be pleased with cooperation with Georgia

“We are very pleased with the cooperation with Georgia,” said Margareta Cederfelt, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

According to Margareta Cederfelt, the OSCE PA will not observe the upcoming local elections in Georgia. It usually monitors parliamentary and presidential elections.

President of the OSCE PA said during the meeting with Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava, they discussed the implementation of the 2020 parliamentary election-related recommendations and the situation across the occupied territories.

“We are looking forward to the day when Georgia’s internationally agreed borders are respected. It is important for the OSCE PA to support the countries to have their right on their own territories,” she said.

Kakha Kuchava said he had discussed ongoing reforms and the current situation across occupied regions during the meeting with the President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Parliament Speaker also informed Margareta Cederfelt about the Election Code amendments.

“I am sure with the participation of our delegation in the OSCE PA, relations will further intensify and be oriented on more ambitious outcomes,” Kuchava claimed.

Georgian Parliament Speaker Kakha Kuchava takes part in the 5th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Vienna, Austria.
