EU Ambassador: It is still too early to say how this process will play out and continue

According to the EU Ambassador to Georgia, Carl Hartzell, it is too early to say how the negotiations process between the political sides will play out and continue.

The Ambassador said that the facilitators stay ready to help the sides finding common ground.

“It is still too early to say how this process will play out and continue. After the opening of the parliament, we come into a new phase. As a facilitator I stay ready to continue seeing whether we can find common ground still between the parties”, Hartzell told journalists.

“On the basement of an assessment of those possibilities, we will take decisions also with regard to the possible fifth round. It is still too early to say, I have to be honest, I think it is going to be a hard process. It will take some tremendous leadership and ownership of this process from the sides who really want to make a broad-based agreement possible. We will try to continue helping those, but it’s still too early to see how it will play out. But there is a chance, for sure,” the EU Ambassador concluded.
