World Figure Skating Championships: Georgia secures six Olympic berths
On the final day of the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston, Georgian skater Nika Egadze finished ninth among 39 participants from 31 countries, scoring 263.03 points. His performance secured two spots for Georgia at the upcoming Winter Olympics.
In total, the Georgian team has now qualified for six Olympic berths from the World Championships – two each in pairs skating, ice dancing, and men’s singles.
Another member of the Georgian team, Anastasia Gubanova, did not secure an Olympic license in Boston. However, she will have another opportunity at the additional qualifying tournament scheduled for September in Beijing, China.
