Georgian figure skater Nika Egadze secured a gold medal at the ISU Skating European Championships 2026 in Sheffield, England.

Following the excellently performed short program, Nika Egadze was in 1st place with 91.28 points. He earned 181.72 points in the free program. In total, summing up the scores of the two programs, he earned 273 points.

After securing the title of European Champion, Nika Egadze said he was “nervous” and made several mistakes.

“However, then I remembered the words of my coaches, I felt the moment and did my best for this amazing audience,” he said.

For the record, at the European Figure Skating Championships, members of the Georgian national team, Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava, claimed the title of European champions.

Anastasia Gubanova, a member of the Georgian team, earned 184.36 points and finished the European Championship in 5th place.
