Unity-National Movement Vashadze: EU's concrete actions needed to support Georgia's protest movement

Giorgi Vashadze, leader of the Unity–National Movement, emphasized the importance of concrete actions from the European Union to support Georgia’s protest movement. After meeting with European parliamentarians, Vashadze expressed his optimism about their willingness to help Georgia return to its European path.

According to Vashadze, the MEPs have taken a resolute stance in support of the Georgian people, protesters, and political prisoners. He highlighted that they are committed to helping Georgia break free from Ivanishvili’s influence and achieve its European aspirations.

“Secondly, we must always ask what we are doing, because the European Union is ready to do everything to help Georgia return to its European path and free ourselves from Ivanishvili. The formula for victory is as follows: continuous protest, opposition unity, and actions from the European Union. We must await concrete actions from the European Union; we cannot speak on their behalf, which is decisive. But what the Baltic countries did regarding personal sanctions is a very serious decision.

Moreover, we directly requested, yes, financial support is needed for the people, the civil sector, and media outlets, which is very important so that only propagandistic media remains in this country. We have a threat that they will have only financial resources because serious problems exist for TV companies Mtavari and Formula. They must survive,” Giorgi Vashadze stated.
