The non-governmental organization Transparency International – Georgia published the results of a public survey “Elections and Participation in Politics.”

Based on the survey, the 79% of the adult Georgian population believes that emerging of a new force if necessary in Georgian politics.

The 64% supports proportional rule of elections in Georgia. The 2/3 of those interviewed realizes the importance of participation in elections and does not share the belief that his/her participation in elections will not change anything in the country.

The majority of the interviewed said that representatives of ethnic minorities take part in political processes.

The public survey was conducted by Caucasus Research Center from February 27 to March 18. The 1, 763 people were interviewed throughout Georgia. The margin of error is 2.2%.
