Speaker reveals Georgian NGOs' Estonian office photo, accuses EU schemes of funnelling money into politics
“This is Transparency International Georgia’s Estonian office, as well as Nino Lomjaria’s European Orbit’s Estonian office. Also registered at the same address are Publika, Tabula, and On.ge. These are European Union schemes aimed at gaining political influence over Georgia. They are seeking ways to funnel money into politics without consulting the Georgian people,” stated Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of Georgia’s Parliament, on Imedi TV, where he presented relevant photographs and registration documents during the programme.
According to him, it is precisely through these channels that the European Union attempts to provide funding to NGOs it controls in Georgia, circumventing Georgian law.
“This is Transparency International’s Estonian office, which is also Nino Lomjaria’s European Orbit’s Estonian office. The same address is used by the so-called media outlet, Publika, which is in reality a propaganda tool, as well as several other similar organisations. This is what Estonia is doing against Georgia today, establishing fake organisations that claim to be non-governmental. A dilapidated building beside a railway, and they tell us this is supposedly an Estonian organisation.
All of this is clearly visible, with documents supporting every detail: Transparency International Georgia’s Estonian address, where Eka Gigauri and Aleksandre Baramidze are registered; Georgia’s European Orbit – Nino Lomjaria and Mikheil Benidze. Interestingly, Estonian personal identification numbers are used instead of Georgian ones. I am unsure of the legal status they have acquired there. The media outlets such as Publika, On.ge, and Tabula have all become Estonian media outlets. Additionally, one person of particular interest is presented as a medical worker and a key figure in the defamatory BBC film against Georgia, Konstantine Chakhnuashvili, who has turned out to be a content creator for an Estonian NGO. These are the individuals whose testimonies purportedly slander Georgia, claiming the use of First World War weapons.
These are European Union schemes aimed at gaining political influence over Georgia. Madam Kos informed us of this. They are attempting to funnel money into politics without consulting the Georgian people,” declared Shalva Papuashvili.
