SSSG: Claims about Russian military communication terminals in Georgia are false

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has released a statement denying claims circulated since yesterday by several media platforms and individual activists, alleging that Ukrainian intelligence has identified special secure communication terminals of the Russian Armed Forces on Georgian territory.

According to the SSSG, no representative of these media outlets or activist groups has contacted the agency regarding the allegations.

“Despite this, none of the representatives of the mentioned media platforms have reached out to the Security Service. At the same time, we have not received any such information from the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service.

The Ukrainian intelligence service, in its own statement, mentioned the presence of such networks near Ukraine, on the front line, and on the African continent—not in Georgia.

The photo attached to the Ukrainian statement left room for misinterpretation, which enabled certain groups to conduct a false and anti-state campaign within Georgia.

We are proactively working to determine what led to the dissemination of material that contradicts their own official statements and allowed specific groups to spread misinformation,” the SSSG said.
