SSSG confirms that individual detained on espionage charges is Gulbaat Rtskhiladze

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) confirmed that the individual detained on espionage charges and head of Eurasian Institute,” a non-governmental organization is Gulbaat Rtskhiladze.

In addition, several organizations were registered in Rtskhiladze’s name, including “Caucasian Cooperation”, “Immortal Army of Georgia”, and “People’s Movement for Georgian-Russian Dialogue and Cooperation”.

Officers of the Counter-Intelligence Department of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) detained a citizen of Georgia, the founder of a non-governmental organization who, through various platforms, supplied information to intelligence services of two foreign countries, the SSSG announced during a briefing.

According to the SSSG, the individual also organized various activities, and through high-level conspiracy contacts, held online and face-to face meetings outside Georgia.
