Racha museum exhibition project wins Gold at international design competition

The permanent exhibition project of the renovated Racha Museum—developed in collaboration with the Georgian National Museum and the Franco-Singaporean design firm StudioMilou—has won the Gold Prize at the international design competition The unDesign Award, the Ministry of Culture reports.

According to the Ministry, the scientific concept of the exhibition was developed by researchers from the Georgian National Museum with the involvement of staff from the Oni Museum. StudioMilou translated this vision into an innovative and modern design.

“The exhibition will be housed in the newly constructed museum building in the city of Oni. Following the successful completion of its first phase and its international recognition, the project will now proceed to the next stage: the installation of the exhibition in the near future. The exhibition will offer visitors a fresh narrative about the Racha region’s rich natural heritage, history, and culture.

As a result of this project, the Racha Museum is set to become a key cultural and educational hub in the region, meeting contemporary international standards and establishing a new center of attraction.

The international recognition of the Racha Museum exhibition project marks a major achievement for Georgia’s cultural and museum landscape. It also highlights the increasingly vital role of museums in today’s world,” the Ministry of Culture stated.
