President Kavelashvili: Tamazashvili truly understands Adjara's pain and joy - we're pleased he will lead Adjara's government

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, alongside Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, introduced the new Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, to local government representatives.

According to the President’s press service, the President thanked Tornike Rizhvadze for his service and wished success to the new Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Sulkhan Tamazashvili.

“I congratulate the new Chairman of Adjara’s Government, Mr. Sulkhan Tamazashvili, on this responsible position and wish him success. He is a son of this region, born and raised in Adjara – consequently, he truly understands both Adjara’s pain and joy. We are all pleased that he will be the leader of Adjara’s government. I thank each of you for supporting Mr. Sulkhan Tamazashvili.

I would also like to acknowledge Mr. Tornike Rizhvadze’s contributions – he led Adjara’s government during a difficult period and implemented numerous significant projects for the region’s development. I thank him for his service,” stated Mikheil Kavelashvili.

Members of the Parliament of Georgia, the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Supreme Council, and mayors of Adjara’s municipalities attended the meeting.
