PM meets business sector representatives

The Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with representatives of the business sector to discuss Georgia’s economic progress and future development priorities, the Government Administration reported.

The meeting highlighted the country’s high economic growth rate, which currently ranks first in the wider region and Europe. The Prime Minister emphasized that economic advancement is key to strengthening Georgia’s position on the international stage and will remain a top priority.

Kobakhidze noted improvements in poverty reduction and employment, citing the creation of 68,000 new jobs in the past year—a result largely driven by the business sector. He thanked business leaders for their role in job creation.

The discussion also addressed Georgia’s strong fiscal indicators, low inflation, and currency stability. The Prime Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to further accelerating economic growth.

Anti-corruption efforts were another focus. Kobakhidze underscored recent personnel changes and the government’s determination to minimize corruption, emphasizing that integrity is a guiding principle in staffing decisions.

He also spoke about recent reforms, including increased transparency of government legal acts, a halt to direct sales of state property, and enhanced oversight of major public procurements, overseen by the Government Efficiency Department.

The meeting was held in an expanded format with a question-and-answer session, attended by over 80 business representatives from various sectors.
