PM: Georgia-Armenia cooperation crucial to jointly protect national interests
“Close cooperation is crucial for jointly protecting the national interests of our countries,” said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze at the 14th session of the Georgia-Armenia joint Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.
Kobakhidze emphasized the strong historical foundation of relations, partnership, and friendship between Georgia and Armenia.
“It is an honour to co-chair this session for the first time. The fact that this commission is meeting for the fourteenth time underscores the close cooperation between our countries. I had a productive bilateral meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister, where we discussed key issues concerning our nations, regional dynamics, and global developments.
Regular high-level dialogue and close collaboration in various fields reflect our exceptionally successful partnership, yielding tangible results. Our special relationship is not just a matter of geographic proximity but is built on a deep-rooted friendship spanning thousands of years. This historic bond is also reflected in governmental relations.
The signing of the Declaration of Strategic Partnership marks a new phase in our cooperation, strengthening both political and economic ties. I am confident that today’s commission meeting will help further enhance existing formats of cooperation, deepen our multidimensional partnership, and explore new opportunities,” Kobakhidze stated.
