The Patriarchate of Georgia released a statement on coronavirus preventive measures and gave recommendations to the parish.
Georgian Orthodox Church urges its parishioners to refrain from going abroad, including going on a pilgrimage except for extreme necessity.
“As for those travelled from high-risk countries, they have to follow self-isolation rules. Those individuals who have other types of flu should stay at home. At their request, they can receive the Eucharist at home.
The liturgy will be held in the usual manner, though we consider it permissible to receive a sweet wine after Eucharist by disposable plastic glass or parish can bring their own glass as well,” the Georgian Patriarchate said in a statement.
