Parliament Speaker – I call on the opposition, staging protests with padlocks, for return to normal political process

Archil Talakvadze, Parliament Speaker calls on the opposition for return to the normal political process.

In an interview with journalists, Talakvadze recommended oppositional leaders to use possibilities granted by the law, namely, committee hearings and faction meetings instead of ‘staging protests with padlocks’ at state institutions.

According to Talakvadze, blocking and picketing of state buildings do not fall within the frame of the right to peaceful assemblage and manifestation and represents the law violation on which the reactions follows by the state,” Parliament Speaker said.

Talakvadze said that normal political processes and preparation for the 2020 parliamentary elections were in the interest of the country and Georgian interests.
