Nika Melia: Let's move to the CEC building, set a curfew, no one can enter and leave the building

The protesters will move from Rustaveli Avenue to the Central Election Commission and will not allow anyone to enter the election administration building until snap elections are called, – Nika Melia, a member of the National Movement, made this announcement.

Protesters are demanding the resignation of the CEC chair and scheduling snap elections. The opposition leaders say they will be picketing the CEC building until their demands are met.

“The government had time to compromise before 8 PM. The communication took place between the opposition and Talakvadze and Kobakhidze. They proposed to hold negotiations on Monday. While the whole nation is standing here, the government is obliged to talk today. We do not believe their hypothetical promises. Initiative, truth, firmness, courage are on the side of the people, on the right side of history. Therefore, it is time to act. We took the decision, and this decision needs to be executed now. There will be no interval between protests. People will continue to protest in each city and region uninterrupted. Now we are all together, and we have to move and set a curfew to the CEC building, not to allow anyone to enter or leave the building until new elections are called, we will all stand there,” – Nika Melia said.
