The chair of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, held a meeting at the Presidential Administration, where he briefed the president and staff on technological innovations planned for the upcoming October 26 elections.

“We conducted an informational session as part of our ongoing campaign to familiarise public agencies and interested parties with election technologies and innovations. During the meeting, we provided details about the technological advancements to be implemented in the upcoming elections,” said Giorgi Kalandarishvili.

Regarding the opening of election precincts for Georgian citizens living abroad, Kalandarishvili explained the necessary procedures and criteria.

“The law stipulates specific procedures, including the requirement of at least 50 and not more than 3,000 citizens on consular registration to establish precincts. We will open polling stations wherever there is a legal basis and sufficient registration numbers,” he stated.
