New cases of coronavirus not reported in Georgia today

No new case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Georgia today. The head of the Georgian Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Amiran Gamkrelidze said that the total number of infected remains 25 in Georgia so far.

“We started decentralization of our lab. We are conducting testings already in Kutaisi, Batumi and Lugar lab itself. Today, up to this point, about 35 samples have been tested at these three locations and all samples are fortunately negative on novel coronavirus. However, there are still dozens of samples subjected to testing”, – Amiran Gamkrelidze said.

According to Medical Director Marina Ezugbaia 43 patients remain placed at the Hospital of Infectious Diseases, out of which 22 are infected with COVID-19. All patients are subjected to medical supervision and treatment.

“20 patients have been tested negative on coronavirus. This morning 11 samples were taken, we expect results at this time. The samples of seven patients have been taken this afternoon” – Ezugbaia said.
