Michael Roth, Member of the German Bundestag, said, “After protesters were brutally beaten and detained, the first opposition politicians are now being imprisoned. This is the destruction of liberal democracy by the ruling party!”

Law enforcement officers detained Nika Gvaramia, a leader of the Coalition for Change. The incident occurred at the party’s office, where police were conducting a search.

Earlier the same day, law enforcement had entered the offices of several opposition organizations and parties.
