Michael Roth meets opposition members in Tbilisi

Michael Roth, the Chairman of the German Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee, is meeting with opposition leaders at the Rooms Hotel in Tbilisi.

Opposition includes Giorgi Butikashvili and Zurab Japaridze from the Coalition for Change, Salome Samadashvili from the Strong Georgia coalition, and Giorgi Vashadze, from the Unity-National Movement.

“The Georgian people’s battle has received the most support from our key allies, and Germany has emerged as Georgia’s primary strategic partner in this most difficult phase in which democracy is being violated.

Germany assists us in establishing a democratic system. I say it openly: Germany has never been so active in the history of independent Georgia,” Giorgi Vashadze stated before the meeting.

Michael Roth arrived in Georgia today.
