Memorial sculptures of 17 soldiers to be put in Shindisi village

Memorial sculptures of 17 soldiers, who died during August 2008 Georgia-Russia war, will be put in Shindisi village, Gori district of Shida Kartli region within the framework of Shindisi Heroes Project.

The bronze sculptures with the total weight of 20 tons will be ready in 6 months. Nugzar Chavchavadze is working on the first sculpture.

The project also envisages publishing of the book, which will contain biographies and memories of the deceased soldiers. Edmond Minashvili, author of the project lived in the families of the soldiers to collect the material.

The Georgian public will see the film “Shindisi Heroes” directed by Dito Tsintsadze in the nearest future.
