Shindisi heroes' dedication remains proud example of our modern history, PM says

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has commemorated the 17 soldiers who died at the Shindisi Battle, saying “the dedication of the heroes who died in the Shindisi battle will always remain a proud example of our modern history on which the future generation will be brought up.”

“Their dedication to the freedom and independence of the motherland will always remain a proud example of our modern history” the PM went on.

Georgia is commemorating today a group of soldiers who lost their lives during the Russia-Georgia 2008 war in a battle in Shindisi village.

The 17 heroes who were killed are as follows: Aleksandre Oniani, Emzar Tsilosani, Vepkhia Jishkariani, Zviad Katsadze, Teimuraz Beridze, Ilia Gabunia, Ilia Sheklashvili, Irakli Janelidze, Kakha Koshadze, Levan Mikeladze, Marlen Baramia, Mikheil Dvalishvili, Nikoloz Porchkhidze, Roman Zoidze, Ruslan Tsuladze, Peliks Kakauridze and Shmagi Kupatadze.
