Liechtenstein’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Education, and Sport, Dominique Hasler, expressed appreciation for Georgia’s active and constructive partnership during a joint press conference with her Georgian counterpart, Ilia Darchiashvili, on Monday.

Minister Hasler extended her gratitude for the warm hospitality, highlighting that she is the first official representative of the Liechtenstein government to visit Georgia.

The FM emphasized cooperation between the two countries in international forums such as the UN, OSCE, and the Council of Europe. She also underscored the future potential to strengthen the deepened relationship between Liechtenstein and Georgia during Liechtenstein’s upcoming European Council presidency, starting in November.

“These are basic rights, democracy, and the rule of law, which are very significant in our cooperation, as well as the strengthening of bilateral trade and free, prosperous societies, which is Europe’s strength. At the same time, Europe’s future and security will be key topics during our presidency,” said Liechtenstein’s FM.

According to her, the meeting focused on Georgia’s current situation, not only on bilateral relations.

“Supporting Georgia’s independence means creating a European perspective for Georgia and integration into European structures,” she remarked.

The Minister condemned Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine and affirmed Liechtenstein’s support for Ukraine, emphasizing the need to protect international legal principles and maintain a robust international order based on the rule of law.

Dominique Hasler commended the collaborative efforts between the two countries in various international forums, citing examples such as implementing the veto initiative at the United Nations and joint development and implementation of resolutions.
