Lelo's Samadashvili: No time to talk about boycott; opposition should unite and focus on elections
“Today is not the time to talk about boycotting the elections; it is the time for the opposition to unite and focus on preparing for them,” said Salome Samadashvili, a member of the Lelo party.
Samadashvili expressed support for President Salome Zourabichvili’s stance on the release of political prisoners and reforms to the electoral environment.
“We fully agree that maintaining unity is crucial to confronting this regime with a united front. We also support President Zourabichvili’s call to demand the release of political prisoners and change to the election framework. There’s no time to waste—we must actively engage in the political process and start preparing for elections. We share her vision and expectation that Georgia may soon face not only local but also early parliamentary elections.
That’s why we need a clear strategy and tactics. This is precisely why we believe it’s not the time to discuss boycotts but to focus on preparation,” Samadashvili said.
