IPRM meeting held in Ergneti

The Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting took place today in Ergneti village, bordering the occupied region of Tskhinvali.

Irakli Antadze, Deputy Head of the Information-Analytical Department of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSG), said that one of the primary topics discussed during the meeting was Tamaz Ginturi’s murder.

The Georgian central government representatives reiterated their demand for the identification and severe punishment of those responsible for the murder. Antadze noted that the occupation regime continues to assert that their border guards acted lawfully.

Additionally, the meeting addressed issues related to the illegal detention of Georgian citizens and the so-called borderization. Over the past month and a half, three cases of illegitimate borderization were reported along the occupation line. Russian military personnel have been conducting illegal activities near the occupation line near the villages of Kareli and Gori municipalities.

Currently, six Georgian citizens remain illegally detained by the de facto regime.

The next IPRM meeting is scheduled to take place in Ergneti on May 16.
