Hot weather expected across Georgia July 26–28, with brief rains in some regions
The National Environment Agency has issued a weather advisory for July 26–28, warning of extreme heat across much of Georgia, with a chance of brief showers and thunderstorms in some regions.
According to meteorologists, temperatures will soar nationwide, reaching up to +38°C in several areas, with conditions peaking on Sunday, July 28, when hot and dry weather is expected across the country.
In Tbilisi, brief thunderstorms may occur on Friday, followed by clear skies and high heat over the weekend. Daytime temperatures in the capital are expected to range from +35°C to +37°C.
Coastal cities such as Batumi, Kobuleti, Anaklia, and Poti will see relatively milder temperatures of +31°C to +33°C.
Inland western regions, including Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Zestaponi, and Ozurgeti, will face higher temperatures, climbing to +38°C in some areas.
Mountainous areas like Ambrolauri, Oni, Shovi, and Chiatura will also experience intense heat, with highs ranging from +33°C to +38°C, while resort towns such as Mestia and Bakhmaro will see temperatures between +30°C and +35°C.
In Kvemo Kartli and Shida Kartli (including Rustavi, Gori, Marneuli, and Tskhinvali), short-lived thunderstorms and hail are possible on July 26–27. By Sunday, the region will experience dry, hot weather with highs between +34°C and +38°C.
The Kakheti region, covering cities like Telavi, Sighnaghi, and Gurjaani, will also see intense heat, with daytime temperatures forecasted at +34°C to +38°C.
In the highland areas of Samtskhe-Javakheti, Dusheti, and Kazbegi, temperatures will range from +24°C to +36°C, depending on altitude.
