Heiko Maas: Germany made 17 requests for information to Russia regarding Khangoshvili murder case

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said German authorities made a total of 17 requests for information to Russia regarding Zelimkhan Khangoshvili murder case.

Heiko Maas noted that despite numerous appeals, there was no response from Moscow. As the German diplomat noted, Germany has twice formally applied to Russia for legal assistance to which it received an insufficient response.

For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that Russia has no information regarding the questions of the German side.

Zelimkhan Khangoshvili was killed in Berlin on 23 August 2019. The Berlin Police arrested 48 years old Russian citizen on suspicion of killing.
