Government Administration Head meets UN DCO Regional Director

Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Georgian Government Administration, met Gwi-Yeop Son, Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia at the UN Development Coordination Office.

The dignitaries discussed the main directions of future cooperation between Georgia and the United Nations. It was noted that work is actively underway on developing a cooperation framework, which will form the basis for future program engagement with UN agencies.

According to the Head of Government Administration, the cooperation framework will reflect specific priorities that fully align with the country’s interests, including sustainable economic growth, support for regional development and advancement of education. These efforts will contribute to elevating the relationship between Georgia and the UN to a qualitatively new level.

The discussion also touched upon the Law of Georgia on Grants. The Head of Government Administration provided the UN representatives with detailed information on the objectives of the law.

The meeting, held at the Government Administration, was attended by Didier Trebucq, UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia.
