Georgia leads Europe in government transparency, says Levan Zhorzholiani
“Transparency is a priority for us. In this regard, Georgia is at the forefront in Europe,” stated Levan Zhorzholiani, Head of the Georgian Government Administration. According to the Government Administration, he made these remarks during the presentation of the 2026 Democracy Perception Report, which recognised Georgia as a leader in government transparency across Europe.
According to Zhorzholiani, this achievement directly stems from the reforms undertaken and the decisions made by the government.
“This success is due to the reforms and policies introduced by the government. Most notably, it involves the public dissemination and publication of all decrees, resolutions, and orders issued by the government. This transparency primarily aims to mitigate corruption risks. Anyone interested can see the decisions made by the government and have the opportunity to express their opinions on these matters,” Zhorzholiani explained.
